Taste: On the nose, the wine smells of red plums and carrots, with smoky, charcoal-burnt flavours, spices, black pepper and an appealing aroma. After an hour, it is a rich, ripe rum with a pleasantly smooth mouthfeel, raisin and dark chocolate flavours, well-balanced acidity, medium tannins and medium body.

Established in 2008, Collis Riondo (the parent company of Castelforte) is one of the largest and most important wine producers in Veneto. They are the undisputed leader of viticulture in the Veneto region with over 6,000 hectares of vineyards that are managed daily by more than 2.400 associated farmers. The vineyards cover the main production zones, appellations and grape varieties of the region: Prosecco, Soave, Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Garganega and Corvina being the most renowned among local and international consumers. The name “Castelforte” is a fusion of the Italian words for castle and fort in honour of the castle and fortified walled town of Soave.

DOCG Amarone Della Valpolicella：

Produced from Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone grapes, with small amounts of other local grape varieties. Following the traditional Amarone production method, the grapes are dried in Riondo’s temperature-controlled warehouse until the January following the harvest. The wine is aged in oak for 24 months.
