【酒莊 Winery】

Thierry Mortet is the brother of the late, renowned winemaker Denis Mortet. The two brothers each inherited a portion of the vineyards from their father's winery, Domaine Mortet Charles & Fils. In 1992, Thierry Mortet founded his eponymous winery, located in the heart of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. Thierry Mortet initially took over 4 hectares of vineyards, which have now grown to 8.5 hectares. The vineyards are primarily located in Gevrey-Chambertin, Daix, Couchey, and Chambolle-Musigny, with an annual production of approximately 35,000 to 40,000 bottles.

The winery is committed to producing high-quality wines. Its vineyards are organically cultivated and certified in 2007, and it also practices green fruit thinning. During winemaking, the grapes are completely destemmed, cold-macerated for 4-5 days, and fermented at a temperature maintained at around 31-33°C. Extraction is carried out twice daily using a gentle extraction method. The wines are aged for at least one year in oak barrels aged two years or older, followed by another 3-6 months in the cellar. New barrels are sometimes used depending on the appellation. Only a small amount of sulfur dioxide is added after malolactic fermentation and at bottling, resulting in a precisely balanced wine. The French wine magazine *La Revue du Vin de France* states: "He is more cautious than Denis, taking a slower approach to both viticulture and winemaking before taking more radical measures. His smaller terroir area, in particular, helps to enhance the style of his wines. However, this also allows him to offer wines at reasonable prices, bringing more enjoyment to people."
【產區 Region】

Gevrey-Chambertin is a renowned village in the Côte de Nuits appellation of Burgundy, France. Located south of Dijon and bordered to the east by the flat and open Saone plain, it is one of Burgundy's finest red wine producing regions. Among the various Burgundy villages, it is known for its full-bodied, robust, and deep-colored wines with a pronounced oak influence. Therefore, Gevrey-Chambertin is often described as a masculine wine. However, in recent years, with the market's increasingly sophisticated tastes, Gevrey-Chambertin winemakers have begun to focus more on the balance of fruit and floral aromas, seemingly adding a touch of scholarly refinement to this masculine character.
