James Suckling 91 points :
This is a savory and fresh red with berries, tile and dried spice, such as nutmeg. Pine needles, too. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins and a crisp finish. A blend of wines from Monbousquet, Pavie and Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux. Drinking nicely now.

Chateau Pavie is one of the wineries that has risen the fastest in terms of reputation, wine prices, and scores in Bordeaux in the past 20 years. Chateau Pavie can be said to be the leader among them.。
Chateau Pavie Winery introduction:
Gerard Perse, who originally ran a supermarket, became obsessed with wine. He often held wine gatherings with old friends, organized wine tasting parties, and traveled all day long to various Bordeaux production areas to visit various small and large wineries, so he became interested in running a winery. , and he was particularly fond of the Saint Emilion production area on the right bank. Finally, he bought Monbousquet in 1993 and embarked on the road of no return to produce top-notch wines. He officially joined the ranks of the owners, and then waited until the Valette family sold Pavie in 1998. When the opportunity arose, he quickly sold his supermarket shares, acquired the entire Pavie winery, and concentrated on developing his own boutique wine kingdom.
After Gerard Peres took over Pavie, he immediately carried out cost-effective renovations, built an underground drainage system, replaced old and diseased trees, halved the yield per hectare (compared to the previous owner), and hired Michiel Rolland as a winemaking consultant. Since then, the quality of the wine has improved dramatically. He is favored by all walks of life, including Robert Parker, who is very fond of him. He was given an astonishing 100 perfect scores in 00, 05, 09 and 10. In the latest classification list of Saint-Emilion in 2012, Pavie even rushed to the top from B grade. Grade A, one of the four kings along with Angelus, Ausone, and Cheval blanc. From being unknown in the wine world to being on its own, he faced a lot of cynicism from so-called insiders. However, the old-school wine industry insiders in Saint Emilion, a local wine company, had to face a lot of cynicism from the beginning. They have rejected him. In addition to laughing at his crazy investment, they even questioned that Pavie has added a new world style. It is not a traditional French wine. Today, Pavie stands at the top, whether it is market acceptance, wine price, or score. The system continues to rise every year and is recognized by the market.
