Aged an average of 20 years in aged oak barrels, the 20-Year-Old Tawny reveals the complexity of meticulous aging. It pairs beautifully with nuts, dried fruits, and fruitcakes, and is also ideal with vanilla ice cream or crème brûlée.
On the nose, it exhibits a sublime aroma, with distinct "nutty" flavors and delicious ripe fruit notes, enhanced by a touch of orange peel.
Palate: Intense, softly sweet, smooth, and perfectly balanced, with a long, elegant finish.
Why do some Port bottles have white oil marks on the front?
Most aged Port bottles feature white oil marks called Splash Marks on their front surfaces.
These marks serve as identification for wineries during cellar storage, indicating the bottle's upright orientation and the location where sediment accumulates (opposite the Splash Mark).
Therefore, it is recommended that collectors store Port bottles in their wine cabinets with both the label and the white splash mark facing upward. Additionally, stand the bottle upright for 1-2 days before consumption to allow the sediment to settle to the bottom.
