Characteristics: Haut-Médoc Giscours is a delightfully fresh wine. It brings out the beautiful aromatic brilliance that forms part of the Giscours identity. Our Haute-Médoc vines (60 hectares in total) are carefully cultivated by vineyard workers with the same philosophy all year round. Balance and technique are still key. The terroir is a mixture of fine gravel and sand, ensuring extremely refined wines. Rich fruit, fine tannins and an extremely fresh finish, it fully deserves its place alongside Giscours' top wines.

600 years of history and commitment

Giscours has a long, rich history, which can be traced back to the fourteenth century. At that time it was a defensive tower overlooking a wild and inhospitable region. The real beginning came in 1552, when Pierre de Lhomme, a wealthy Bordeaux draper, bought a nobleman’s house called “Guyscoutz”; he proceeded to turn it into a vast estate and planted the first vines. Wine production was launched and each of the rich merchant’s successors made their own contribution to this magnificent building. It was in the nineteenth century under the promise, Pescatore and Cruse families that Giscours gained much of its finery: the château was transformed into neoclassical palace, architect Eugene Bülher and the production facilities were modernized with the construction of huge buildings, including the famous «Ferme Suzanne”.

Mermaid of Bordeaux

Mermaid Winery is a third-class winery in Bordeaux's 1855 classification system. There are more than 9,000 wineries in Bordeaux, large and small. In the 1855 classification system, only about 60 wineries have been selected as class wineries. Fifth level village. The biodynamic planting method regards the cultivation of grapes and the entire grape estate as a whole, forming an ecosystem that is closely integrated and intertwined, and promotes the philosophy of ecology, organic, nature, and self-sufficiency.
