Highland Queen was founded in 1893 and has a history of 131 years. The brand is named in honor of Mary Stuart I, the eighth monarch of Scotland, one of the most famous and beloved legendary figures in Scottish history.

The founder, Mr. Roderick Macdonald, was also one of the founders of Glenmorangie and Glen Moray. Documentedly, since 1918, the spirits from the Glenmorangie and Glen Moray distilleries have been used to blend Highland Queen whisky.

During the heyday of blended whisky in the 1970s, Highland Queen was sold in all ports worldwide where Scotch whisky could be legally imported, and was a household name. It remains popular in over 80 countries globally, becoming a staple for many whisky connoisseurs.
