Shiraha is Chichibu's entry-level whisky, blended from whiskies from Hanyu and Chichibu, as well as nine other malt and grain whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Canada and other places. Rich in citrus lemon peel and orange peel flavors. Not chill-filtered or caramel-colored, it exudes nice floral aromas (chamomile, marigold, gardenia), delicate aromas of peach, apple and vanilla, and accompanied by the aroma of biscuit cereals. The taste is elegant, with notes of vanilla, green apple, malted milk balls and fresh vanilla, and a gentle spice finish that gradually turns to warm chocolate and creamy grain flavors.

Ichiro Akuto was born into a family with a history of brewing sake for more than 300 years. In 1945, Ichiro Akuto's grandfather also decided to start distilling whiskey. Ichiro Akuto's father, who ran the Hanyu Distillery until the end of the century when Japan's economy fell into trouble. At the time, sake was not at the top of the shopping list and the family had to sell the sake business and Hanyu Distillery. The buyer at the time was not interested in their remaining 400 barrels of whiskey, but Akuto did not want these treasures to go to waste due to Hanyu's closure. He seized the opportunity, kept the 400 barrels, and founded Venture Whisky Ltd in 2004. Chichibu Distillery began production in 2008 Today, the natural environment, seasonal characteristics and high-quality water provide perfect conditions for the distillery.
The market presents a huge demand, and Chichibu wants to do it, but not at the expense of quality. The company's stated goal is to maintain its special position in the market by continuing to produce whiskeys with a very special taste. This ultimately requires expanding barley production to achieve a slow and balanced growth effect. This will allow Chichibu Distillery to better obtain the premium resources needed for its high-quality whiskey.
