Winery

Domaine JM Sélèque is the embodiment of a passionate and innovative vision of Champagne. Managed by Jean-Marc Sélèque, still in his thirties but already acclaimed by the critics, the estate follows in the family tradition of Champagne viticulture, while injecting a modern energy that has shaken up the established hierarchy. Jean-Marc has already been awarded four stars by the Bettane & Desseauve Guide, and will be named ‘Discovery of the Year’ in 2019. His cuvées are among the elite of Champagne d'auteur.

Region

With a vineyard estate of 9 hectares spread over 45 plots in six villages, stretching as far as the Côte des Blancs, JM Sélèque applies a viticulture adapted to each terroir. He uses inter-row ploughing, grassing and meticulous pruning to ensure optimum ripening and authentic expression of the fruit. Far from excessive corrections, his artisanal approach favours the authenticity and purity of each cuvée, offering champagnes that are low in dosage, deep and full-bodied, with perfectly balanced mineral tension.

Winemaking

These champagnes, characterised by bursting bouquets of fruit, flowers and spices, and by fine, dynamic bubbles, will appeal to the most demanding palates. Combining tradition, rigour and innovation, the JM Sélèque estate continues to make a name for itself on the international scene, attracting top restaurants and prestigious importers. A true sensory voyage into the world of sparkling wines, where each bottle reveals the soul and nobility of Champagne.

The 2018 Extra-Brut Soliste Chardonnay Pierry 1er Les Tartières et Les Porgeons is lovely, bursting with aromas of white flowers, pear, peach, citrus zest and a subtle touch of buttery pastry. Full-bodied, vinous and satiny, with an ample, fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and a long, saline finish, it's a decidedly vinous, gastronomic Champagne.
