[Famous Japanese Whiskey Factory -Saburomaru Distillery]
Located in the Wakatsuru Sake Brewery, founded in 1862 (Bunkyu II), the Sanjoumaru Distillery is the only whisky distillery in the northern part of Japan that distills sake in the winter and whisky in the summer. The distillery has been making whisky since 1952, and is famous for its distinctive smoky flavour. In 1953, the distillery launched its first release, Sunshine Whisky (サンシャインウイスキー), a very special Japanese whisky. Saburomaru hoped that this whisky, made with water, air and sunlight, would enable the Japanese whisky industry to rise again in Japan like the sun, symbolising post-war reconstruction and peace.

[World's First Copper Cast Iron Steamer — Zemon(セモン)]

ZEMON bronze cast stills were developed by Saburomaru Distillery in collaboration with Laozi Manufacturing in Takaoka City, which is a bronze city in Toyama Prefecture with a history dating back 400 years to the Kaga feudal era. More than 90% of Japan's bronzes are naturally produced in the castle town, and it has developed excellent bronze-making techniques. The unique design of the Zemon was awarded a Japanese Patent (Licence No. 6721917) in June 2022 and a UK Patent (Registration No. GB2590218) in September of that year.
It has the following features:
Combination of traditional technology and modern innovation: This distiller is a perfect combination of tradition and modern technology, combining the 400-year-old copper manufacturing technology of Takaoka City with modern innovative craftsmanship.
These features give the ZEMON still a distinct advantage in the whisky making process, producing a whisky with a richer and fuller flavour.
