Located at the intersection of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol production areas, the vineyard is adjacent to the famous Chateau Cheval Blanc.
Bordeaux expert Stephen Brook praised La Dominique's terroir as being comparable to the top wineries, Cheval Blanc and L'Evangile.
"The vineyards lie in a band alongside those of Cheval Blanc and the best parcels are those close to Cheval Blanc and L'Evangile!"
The wine cellar was designed by the famous architect Jean Nouvel (won the "Pritzker Prize", the highest honor award in the field of architecture, in 2008)

Chateau La Dominique (Dominique Castle) is located in Saint Emilion on the right bank of Bordeaux, France. Its history can be traced back to the end of the 17th century. It is not far from the first-class grand winery Chateau Cheval Blanc and the first-class grand winery B Chateau Figeac. In the 1955 Saint-Emilion junior classification, the winery was also successfully rated as a Saint-Emilion classified growth. In the latest Saint-Emilion classification in 2012, it continued to be ranked among the classified growths.
It has been managed by the Fayat family since 1969. Since the owner Clément Fayat acquired the winery, the vineyard has undergone a comprehensive reorganization, renovating the building, expanding the vineyard area, establishing a new brewing workshop, and introducing advanced winemaking equipment. Now it covers an area of about 30 hectares.
In recent years, the winery has begun to experiment with biodynamic farming. There are currently 5 hectares of land on trial and will continue to expand the biodynamic farming area. At the same time, the winery continues to experiment with modern winemaking techniques, including the use of isolated stainless steel storage tanks with dual temperature control skins and variable capacity, and attempts to age up to 10% of the wine in clay pots and egg-shaped barrels. And invited the internationally renowned "flying winemaker" Michel Rolland to serve as the winery's winemaking consultant. With the support of Michelle and the professional winemaking team, the excellent terroir of Dominique Castle is further explored to create its own wonderful wine. In addition to its first wine, Chateau La Dominique, the winery also produces its second wine, Relais de La Dominique.
In 2014, Chateau La Dominique opened its new wine cellar designed by the famous architect Jean Nouvel, inspired by the interpretation of the pleasure of tasting six red-toned wines. Thanks to the optical effect of the facade, which consists of a huge two-way mirror, the vineyard and the vat wine room merge in one place, one seemingly merging into the other. The chateau's restaurant, La Terrasse Rouge, is on a rooftop terrace covered in red pebbles with views of the vineyards.
