Further exploration of Château Le Maine reveals a fascinating story: it's not a large, independent winery, but rather a conglomerate within the Saint-Émilion appellation of Château La Renommee. A carefully crafted limited-edition Cuvée by Renommée. The grapes for Château Le Maine don't come from various parts of the estate, but from a single, tiny plot of land of only 0.5 to 1 hectare, given the distinctive name "Le Canton du Loup" (Horn of the Wolf).

Terroir: The topsoil is sandy, with a deeper layer of gravel. This sandy-gravele texture gives the wine excellent drainage, resulting in wines that are typically very fruity and light-bodied.

[Grape Ratio and Limited Production] Vine Age and Variety: The vines planted here are young, averaging about 15 years old. The blend is heavily weighted towards Merlot (90%), with the remaining 10% Cabernet Franc. This explains why this wine consistently displays abundant aromas of raspberry, blackberry, and violet. Limited Production: This is one of its greatest strengths. Château Le Maine produces only about 5,000 bottles annually, and each vintage is aged in oak barrels and fermentation tanks for 6 to 12 months.
