Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte is located in the village of Martillac in the Pessac-Leognan region south of Bordeaux, France

The emblem of Château Smith Lafitte has an inverted crown, and the three branches of the crown represent the three sons of George Smith. The three lilies below symbolize the Bosco family who established the estate's vineyards. The crescent in the middle represents the Port of Bordeaux, which is known as the "Port of the Moon".
