ZTF140C Pastourelle de Clerc Milon 2016 Pauillac
$305/btl
Region/Grade: Pauillac
Grape Varieties: 52% Carbernet-sauvignon, 48% Merlot
Alcohol content: 13.5%
Capacity: 750ml
Tasting notes: Garnet red with a ruby hue. The wine initially has a discreet and elegant nose which opens up with airing to reveal succulent aromas of brandied morello cherries mingled with peppery, minty notes.
From a substantial and powerful attack, the mid-palate reveals a close-knit, creamy texture set off by well-integrated, structured tannins. The succulence hinted at on the nose is expressed in black fruit and mocha notes, leading into an opulent finish which underlines the wine’s complexity.

Chateau Clerc Milon is a fifth-class winery under the Baron Rothschild Group. It is affectionately called "Pas de Deux" because of its unique wine label. It is one of the famous Bordeaux wineries that deserves attention. It is located in the Pauillac region, which is home to many famous wineries, close to Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Mouton Rothschild. The winery, along with Mouton and Chateau d'Armailhac, belongs to the global wine giant Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA. The group has strong economic and winemaking capabilities and can provide sufficient human, material and financial resources for Château Clerc Milon to produce high-quality wines.
The history of Château Clerc Milon dates back to the early 19th century, to a plot of land surrounding the small village of Milon, in the northwest corner of Pauillac. There are a large number of vineyards here, including one that belonged to a man named Mandavy, which eventually became the current Duhart-Milon estate. Since 1983, the label of Clarets Milon has been changed to the now popular "Pas de Deux". Its prototype is a treasure made of gold, enamel, pearls, chalcedony and diamonds, 11.5 cm high, and is now on display in the Museum of Wine in Art of Mouton Rothschild.
The wines produced by the winery include Chateau Clerc Milon, Pauillac, France and Pastourelle de Clerc Milon, Pauillac, France. The first vintage of the second wine is 2009. It adopts the same rigorous brewing process as the first wine and has the elegant characteristics and rich layers of Pauillac wine. The winery's first label wine is powerful in style, with abundant tannins, rich fruit flavor and full body. It presents the typical elegant personality of high-quality Pauillac wine and has good aging potential. In many years, it has received excellent reviews of more than 90 points from Robert Parker and James Suckling.
