Champagne Pommery was founded in 1836. Like many legendary champagne houses, its history is tied to a widow: the renowned Madame Louise. Madame Louise's original name was Jeanne-Alexandrine-Louise-Mélin. In 1858, the young Madame Louise became a widow, and with her two young children, she resolutely took charge of the Champagne Pommery house her husband had founded. This remarkable woman not only possessed extraordinary courage and decisiveness in running the winery, but also possessed a keen sense of innovation and a persistent passion for champagne production. She was also a great lover of art and collecting.

Under Madame Louise's leadership, she produced exceptional champagnes, gradually establishing Champagne Pommery's reputation. In 1874, the house produced its first batch of champagne, ushering in a trend for a purer, more natural style of champagne that continues to this day. Today, Champagne Pommery is led by Mr. Vranken, an easygoing, young, and artistically inclined man. Through years of hard work, Champagne Pommery has become a globally renowned champagne brand, sold in over 90 countries and considered the finest in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, and many other countries.

Champagne Pommery boasts a 30-meter-underground cathedral and cellars, built on ancient stone pits excavated by the Romans 2,000 years ago. Each cellar is named after Madame Pommery. Pommery prides itself on its exceptionally cold cellars, maintaining a year-round temperature of 10°C, which helps the wines evolve slowly during the vinification process.
