Robert Oatley Finisterre Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon
The word Finisterre comes from Latin, meaning "the end of the earth". Special emphasis is placed on the use of a single grape variety, single production area, and designated area brewing in this series to demonstrate the proper terroir expression.

The 2018 season in Margaret River was sensational. The growing season was warm and largely devoid of any weather that could be held responsible for viticultural challenges, and the wines on the whole have been hugely impressive as a group. Here, the 2018 Finisterre Cabernet Sauvignon is a product of this season, and it shows good density of Wilyabrup fruit alongside a profusion of French oak (matured 18 months in a combination of new and used). A muscular wine, it's plush and ripe, as the vintage dictates.

With lucid herb-and-red berry notes like cherry, ground pepper, tomato leaf and licorice, this mid-weight Cab is silky and approachable, with succulent tart berry fruit and savory, grainy textured tannins. A Cab with personality and drinkability now and over the next few years.

【Margaret River】
Margaret River, a wine-producing region in Western Australia, is surrounded by the sea on three sides and has a warm maritime climate. The climate is similar to that of Bordeaux, France, so the local area mainly produces powerful style Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Bordeaux-style blends. In terms of liquor, it is famous for its high-quality Chardonnay. The local soil is mostly sandy and marble, and it has both minerality and floral aroma. It also produces Bordeaux-style white wine blends (Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon).
【Robert Oatley】
Robert Oatley Wines is a family owned winery founded in 2006 by the late Robert (Bob) Oatley AO BEM. Currently, the family business Balmoral Australia is managed by Robert's eldest son Sandy Oatley, who planted the first Oatley family vineyards in the late 1960s. In addition to winemaking, the family business also includes competitive sailing, tourism, hotel industry and other businesses. With over fifty years of experience growing vines and making wine, the Oatley family believes the location of their vineyards is crucial. Because where you choose to grow your grapes has everything to do with style and quality. The family hired famous winemaker Larry Cherubino as winemaking director, using the best possible equipment to create high-quality, attractive and cellarable wines.

Robert Oatley Wines has vineyards in Margaret River, Mount Barker and Frankland River in Western Australia and McLaren Vale in South Australia, with a total area of 155 hectares. There are currently three wine series launched to commemorate founder Bob Oatley: the marine-style Signature Series, the Finisterre that highlights the characteristics of the vineyard, and The Pennant that emphasizes the use of high-quality oak barrels. Since 2013, the winery has been awarded the Halliday Wine Companion 5-star winery rating.
The aforementioned Larry Cherubino is a Western Australian wine expert who is committed to promoting the local winemaking industry. He has many years of experience working at Margaret River wineries and has a degree in agriculture and viticulture. He knew the local environment well, and he and the Oatley family also attached great importance to the location of the vineyard, and the two hit it off. He established his own wine brand, Frankland River wine, in 2005, earlier than the establishment of Robert Oatley Wines.
