More than 5 years in white oak barrels. Flavors of vanilla and dried fruits replace the traditional peat smokiness, with a golden color and an extremely smooth and soft taste, making it ideal for women and young adults, and a great introduction to whisky. The longer maturation and increased proportion of malt in the Special Reserve, compared to the Classic, results in less spiciness and more rich, full-bodied flavors and textures.
【Eigashima Shuzo】
Eiigashima Sake Brewery has been a pioneer and longtime leader in the Japanese sake industry. The history can be traced back to the founder's father, who laid the foundation of the brewery more than 300 years ago when he began brewing sake from Japan's nationally renowned local rice and pure, sweet well water. In 1888, Hyokichi Urabe, the second son of the founder, who inherited his father's business talents, established the Egashima Sake Brewing Company in 1888 with the vision of expanding Egashima's local sake brewing to the whole of Japan, and adopted the word “Sincerity” from a Chinese poem as the company motto. From then on, the company entered its heyday as one of the most famous sake breweries in Japan.
In 1919, the company became the first domestic distillery to be granted a whisky license, and with a history of more than 100 years as one of Japan's top 100 distilleries and a family-run distillery, Ei Kaishima Shima Brewery is one of the pioneers of Japan's distilling industry. The distillers are constantly developing the smoothest whisky possible, and Akashi Whisky has been refined over the centuries with this belief in mind.
【High-quality rice】
Rice from the Harima Basin in the northern part of Akashi has long been an important food production area, and it is also the birthplace of Yamada Nishiki, the "King of Sake Rice. It is also the source of Yamadanishiki, the king of sake rice, and the sweet well water from the Akashi beach that produces the famous sake that is the cornerstone of Eikayashima's sake brewing industry.
【Honest heart and skill】
Every sake is a product of the brewer's heart, and the harmony of people is important to produce good sake. The sake brewers who love sake have inherited the brewery's centuries-old brewing mission of “honesty and skill” and want to make sure that everyone can savor the sensation of this heartfelt work.

The barrels at Eikayajima Distillery are mainly Japanese white oak barrels, Spanish sorbet barrels, and American bourbon barrels. Some of the rare white oak casks from the centuries-old distillery are nearly half a century old. As one of the four largest distilleries in Japan, Ei Kaijima Distillery insists on importing the finest barley as its raw material, and uses unparalleled patience in milling, fermentation, and distillation to produce high quality spirits.
