The original wine is first placed in an American bourbon barrel, then matured in a German Pinot Noir red wine barrel, and finally blended with the classic bourbon barrel original wine, presenting a unique and multi-layered aroma and taste.
The main aroma is red berry, with some Turkish delight, baked sweet pear and bitter orange. The red cherry with apple pie aroma is obvious at the entrance, followed by creamy vanilla and apricot, balancing the astringency of tannins. Figs, ginger and a little licorice slowly emerge in the aftertaste, with a thick body and a long aftertaste.
[Tamnavulin]
Tamnavulin is located in the sparsely populated Cairngorm foothills in Speyside, the most famous whiskey producing area in the world. Few tourists visit it, so except for the locals, few people know that there is a whiskey distillery here. In 1966, a whiskey distillery was built here, and its name was Tamnavulin. Tamnavulin means "Mill on the Hill" in Gaelic. The unique climate and pure water source make the whiskey of Tamnavulin present the sweet style of Speyside.
In this famous production area with many stars, Tamnavulin, as a rising star, is like a hermit. It is located deep in the mountains of the production area, and has not done a good job of publicity and promotion. It only knows how to focus on traditional brewing. However, its single malt is indeed representative of the production area. It is gentle and elegant, relatively lighter and sweeter, and even people who are new to whiskey can fall in love with it. The distillery was particularly rebellious and closed in 1995. It was closed for more than ten years. After comprehensive renovation and replacement of equipment, it reopened in 2007.
Advanced equipment and Dingjian’s brewing team have made Tamnavulin single malt recognized by the European market in just over a decade, becoming a rising star among Solvay. The distillery is led by chief brewer Gareth Morgan, who has comprehensive control from grinding to maturation. The water source used is one of the purest springs in Scotland, purified through ancient limestone layers; the traditional double distillation brings out the classic flavor of the region; in order to better mature the wine, the winery's oak barrels are strictly screened so that the rich flavors can be properly blended.
