【Chateau du Tertre - Chateau du Tertre】

Chateau du Tertre is located in the Margaux region on the left bank of Bordeaux, France. Tertre means hill or rising ground in French, which is where the manor is located. The vineyard area has not changed since 1855. The history of Chateau Dutt can be traced back to 1143. It has changed owners many times during its long history and was rated as a fifth-level chateau in 1855. Today it is also a member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (UGCB). The Marques de Segur family, a large wine family in Bordeaux, is one of the previous owners of the winery. At its peak, the family owned both Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Mouton. Rothschild), Chateau Latour and Chateau Calon Segur and many other top names. Under the management of the Segur family, Chateau Dutt has made rapid progress, the area of the winery has expanded, and the quality of the wine has gradually been recognized by many experts. In 1955, due to the death of Philippe Gasqueton, the winery was transferred to the Dutch family Jelgersma. The family also owned another third-level winery, Chateau Giscour, which was also managed by winery manager Alexander Van Beek.
