Peatlands - Islay Background

Islay Island, located next to Gila Island on the west coast of Scotland, Islay Island is only about 620 square kilometers in size (about 1/2 the size of Hong Kong), with a population of only more than 4,000 people, but there are 9 well-known whisky distilleries. .

Islay's wine features a strong and distinctive peat flavor~ Since about 1/4 of the island is covered with peat, and the water sources used by many wineries are also affected by peat layers, Islay has become a muddy Representative of Coal Whiskey.
