A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Dalem has a deep garnet-purple color and compelling notes of blackberry preserves, wild blueberries and ripe, juicy black plums, with hints of dark chocolate, licorice and black olives. The full-bodied palate (15% alcohol) appears bright and fresh with the lively black fruits framed by soft, velvety tannins, finishing long and savory. Nicely done!

The 2018 Dalem is quite backward on the nose, opening gradually to offer blackberry, licorice and very light menthol aromas; you just want to give the aromatics a polite kick up the backside. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Quite juicy in the mouth, delivering black cherries and cassis toward the well-defined, persistent finish. Excellent, but give it 24 months in bottle, because the nose needs time to find its mojo.

Another successful Fronsac which is smooth and creamy through the mid palate with good fruits and rich roasted coffee bean notes alongside toasted oak, coffee and chocolate. It's definitely not taking its foot off the pedal in terms of extraction, but it is sexy and approachable and ready for pleasure, as the high alcohol helps wrap up the tannins. Drinking window 2022-2024.

From a south-facing vineyard overlooking the Dordogne river, the 2018 Château Dalem is a beautiful blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc that will see 14 months in 40% new oak. It offers a ripe yet pure bouquet of blueberries, plums, graphite, licorice, and earth. This gives way to a medium to full-bodied Fronsac that has ample ripeness (it’s 15%), notable freshness and purity, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s going to drink nicely for at least a decade

Chateau Dalem是此地最具代表性的酒莊，也是波爾多歷史最悠久的酒莊之一,酒莊建於1610年。第一代擁有人Michel Rullier在1955年將釀酒技術現代化，目的是提高葡萄酒的品質，促進國際化。而他的女兒Brigitte在2002年正式接棒，運用她多年跟隨老父一起打理葡萄園的經驗，慢慢地建立她的個人團隊，並一心向國際出發，推動她的葡萄酒理念,Brigitte 不主張過份用木桶和浸漬，覺得一切要適可而止，所以每款酒在釀製過程中她都不斷反覆測試各步驟和入桶的時間做而至最合適的效果。相她強調葡萄酒的自然與和諧結合，堅信可以將優雅，清新的口味做到平衡。
酒莊佔地 33 公頃的葡萄園種植了 90% 的梅洛、95 % 的品麗珠和 1%的馬爾貝克。風土是粘土和石灰岩土壤的混合體，南面朝南，朝東南暴露。葡萄園可細分為 16 個不同的地塊。葡萄園平均樹齡45年，而種植的葡萄密度從每公頃6,000株葡萄到每公頃6,600株葡萄藤。這使葡萄酒能夠有足夠空間和更健康的生長環境 全人手採收，為了生產Chateau Dalem 的葡萄酒，葡萄酒是在傳統的、溫度控制的、混凝土大桶中釀造的。大桶的大小不一，可以逐個進行釀造。蘋果乳酸發酵在桶中進行。 Chateau Dalem 的葡萄酒在裝瓶前在 60% 的新法國橡木桶中陳釀 18 個月。 2008 年，酒莊推出了副牌酒Tenation de Dalem。 Chateau Dalem 每個年份的平均年產量接近 5,500 箱。
