Giovanni Rosso位於義大利皮埃蒙特 Barolo 產區內的Serralunga d alba村鎮內。自1890年起，Rosso家族世代種植葡萄，擁有眾多出產頂級釀酒葡萄的特級田，其中包括Cerretta,La Serra, Vigna Rionda, Broglio, Meriame, Sorano, Costa Bell等。

2000年，從法國先後在勃艮第Domaine Jean Grivot和Domaine Denis Mortet工作學習釀酒的DavideRosso回到Piedmont，開始接管酒莊，雖然他當時年僅27歲，但已是備受關注的青年釀酒師。《Decanter》雜誌曾經邀請數名葡萄酒大師提名各自心目中最有潛力的釀酒師，Barolo產區知名釀酒師RobertoConterno對DavideRosso推崇備至，“我認為Davide是Barolo地區最有前途的年輕釀酒師，他對於葡萄酒有自己的想法，而不是一昧地人云亦云，我就是看中他的這個品質。”

接管酒莊之後，DavideRosso以極其認真的態度投身於葡萄酒釀造，以釀造出最嚴謹的葡萄酒為目標。從Barbera到Barolo葡萄酒，如遇到不理想的年份，DavideRosso情願放棄裝瓶也要保證成品的品質，GiovanniRosso酒莊逐漸成為巴羅洛很有潛力的後起之秀。

而在2016年Davide Rosso在西西里島Mount Etna購得一片14公頃的葡萄園，位於火山北坡（Etna公認的最佳風土），這座火山帶來了富含礦物質的深色土壤，賦予埃特納DOC級別葡萄酒鮮明的個性。該區葡萄園大多坐落于山坡高處，那裡有著更涼爽的氣候和更富饒的土壤。產區西部的火山活動並非那麼地頻繁和激烈，但同樣影響著該區的土壤類型。在這些風土條件的綜合作用下，該產區不僅是穀類、橄欖和柑橘類水果的生長地，更是葡萄種植的絕佳之地。

Beautiful jewel-like ruby colour, vibrant and expressive, this is just so moreish, with a beautiful grip that holds the sour cherry and fresh raspberry fruits in place. Gentle tannins also, with a subtle intensity. Excellent quality, this is one to shout about and share with friends. A perfect wine for the heat of summer, it has sweetness on the nose but finishes extremely dry with a refreshing signoff. Got to be the best value wine in the September Releases, and shows just what an exciting category Etna Rosso is right now. A 6.5ha estate on the northern slopes of Etna sat at 750m, winemaker Andrea Delpiano is based in Piedmont, but is in Sicily every month. A must buy.

【Decanter 94 pts】

Gorgeous salted, sour cherry notes on the nose with touches of iron filings. Vibrant and lifted, this has a lovely delicacy to it, smooth and almost light in terms of overall weight but with a piercing density of flavour that fills the mouth and drives to the finish. I love the slightly sour element and touch of iron you get on the tongue too. Excellent detail and precision, clarity and sense of minerality alongside hints of raspberry, violet and white pepper. Lovely control here, letting the terroir shine through. Excellent expression, great value and such a pleasure to drink.

【Wine Spectator 93 pts】

This elegant red draws you into the glass with enticing hints of pine, rose and anise on the nose, where a streak of tarry mineral underscores ripe cherry and wild strawberry fruit, orange peel and tea leaf notes. Fresh and juicy, with fine, firm tannins that emerge on the finish.

【James Sucking 92 pts】

A lovely nose of hibiscus, red cherries and dried herbs. Medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins. Very well structured, with an array of red fruit and berries wrapped around the tannins. It goes on for a while. Ash comes through at the finish.

【Wine Advocate 92 pts】

The Giovanni Rosso 2019 Etna Rosso reveals concentrated fruit and some extra ripeness with dried cherry, blackberry and oak toast. That full-bodied style and the fruit weight is characteristic of the vintage; however, it also suggests a near or medium-term drinking window. The wine remains accessible and very fruity.
