A touch of bacon fat and bonfire smoke to the red fruits. Fireworks and autumn leaves. Medium-bodied, spicy, with great liveliness and freshness on the palate. Tight finish still, little grippy tannins. Long finish. Really vibrant and juicy, such a lovely wine. Long finish. What's not to like?

Probably my favorite of the single vineyard releases (although, truthfully, I find the quality among the three almost indistinguishable), the 2012 Gigondas Le Claux has beautiful minerality to go with notions of black fruits, smoked herbs, graphite and liquid violets. A big, full-bodied Gigondas, it never puts a foot wrong, has building, polished tannin and a blockbuster finish that stays focused.

This has a gorgeous beam of pomegranate, red currant and damson plum fruit, coiled tightly for now. A snap of red licorice adds lift before tangy sanguine, iron, pepper and bay notes emerge on the finish. Exhibits terrific cut and length.

Bright violet color. Pungent black and blue fruit aromas open with air, taking on suave floral and Indian spice character. Stains the palate with sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors that become more lively with air. This extremely youthful Gigondas finishes with serious power, velvety tannins and a whiplash of sweet dark fruit.
Chateau de Saint Cosme憑藉家族15公頃葡萄園中有的三款頂級單一園的Grenache老藤，Le Poste、Le Claux和Hominis Fides 日漸嶄露頭角。短短10年間，就讓酒莊在產群迅速竄紅，也被酒評家們稱其為隆河谷產區新生代的“天才釀酒師”。
Chateau de Saint Cosme 位於法國Rhone Valley的 Gigondas產區，是該地區最古老的酒莊之一。西元109年，羅馬軍隊就在這裏建立了“城堡”，這也是酒莊的前身。至今酒莊的岩壁上還有25個石雕的木桶，顯示著這裏的歷史。
酒莊真正建立於1490年，到目前已經傳到第14代繼承者 Louis Barruol。Louis 繼承酒莊的時候不到30歲，他接受酒莊時，因為酒莊已經很久未有出色的產品，而開始沒落。Louis 不甘心家族的事業就此沉寂，便在釀造過程中加入祖輩留下來的15棵老藤歌海娜（平均樹齡60年）作為主打，並採用有機種植，充分表達風土和老藤相結合的非凡潛力。Louis 的理念是與志同道合的釀酒師一起，結合葡萄園特有的風土，在儘量減少人工干預的條件下，釀造出能表達純正和個性的風土，具有良好陳年潛力的葡萄酒。貫徹著這個理念，他讓 Saint Cosme 酒莊重新綻放出耀眼的光芒。
2001年的同莊的 Saint-Cosme "Les Deux Albion"在著名漫畫《神之水滴》第三集中出現。在漫畫中，這瓶酒剛打開時，女主認為香氣分散，只是一款普通的便宜酒，而醒酒30分鐘後，卻變成了一支“很了不起的酒”，令男主產生了置身巴厘島的錯覺，“各種香料，不同的肉類和成熟的水果，穿著性感服裝的舞蹈演員，以洋槐和金銀花的花瓣裝飾頭髮和身體”。
Robert Parker 喝過酒莊的酒之後非常喜歡，把酒莊稱作 Giondas 的 Le Pin（波爾多車庫酒的鼻祖）；2010 Gigondas Hominis Fides 獲得 Paker滿分的評價；曾經5次入選《Wine Spectator》百大酒款。其中酒莊經典酒款Gigondas更是在2012年度獲得第二名，2017年獲得第五名。
