風味：呈寶石紅色。充滿木桶香、樹莓果醬和濃郁的櫻桃果味，仔細品嘗，也有有淡淡牛油麵包和焦糖風味。 口感上同樣展現出柔和的木質調，例如黑胡椒和豆蔻氣息。相當細膩，質感不錯。非常適合繼續陳存，現在飲用也相當合適。

IL Poggiolo是酒小鬼和酒爸爸親自去意大利參觀及採訪的酒莊之一，我覺得可以總結以下3點去睇：

第1點:土壤
在IL Poggiolo酒莊佣有Montalcino 産區最好的土壤類型- Galestro，也是葡萄藤的絕佳土壤。這種土壤比較易碎，碎裂之後(在陽光和雨水的作用下)給土壤帶來的礦物質，這對於葡萄的生長非常有用，這種礦物質可帶給葡萄酒複雜性。Galestro能够保持水份同時排水性好，因此不會遭受乾燥或太熱的天氣影響，適合葡萄品種Sangiovese成熟，這種土壤釀出來的葡萄酒比其他的更為深色以及更為豐富。

第2點:海拔高度
IL Poggiolo酒莊海拔高度約450米，在Montalcino産區最高約560米，這種高度令晝夜差異促使葡萄緩慢成熟，這對於葡萄酒的香氣至關重要。另外使葡萄酒具有較高的酸度，這就是Brunello可以長時間陳存的關鍵因素。除此之外，在異常炎熱的年份，例如2003年和2017年，較高海拔的涼爽溫度使葡萄酒可以保持Fresh的口感。

第3點:陳存時間
規定Brunello di Montalcino DOCG必須在橡木桶中陳放至少2年，瓶中陳放至少4個月，在採收後的第5年才能上市出售。而最高級別的Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (酒款產量少需求高)必須在橡木桶中陳放至少2年以上，瓶中陳放至少6个月，Riserva則需在採收後的第6年才能上市出售。

而IL Poggiolo酒莊比一般的陳存要求時間會再長些,某程度上會更柔化單寧。

IL Poggiolo Annata Brunello di Montalcino DOCG:在大型法國橡木桶中陳釀2年，瓶中陳放8個月。
IL Poggiolo Brunello di Montalcino Riserva :在大型法國橡木桶中陳釀3年，再放入500升酒桶中保存多1年，瓶中陳放12個月。
