IWAI is his traditional model for Mars Whisky, but Mars Whisky “IWAI” is a little lighter in flavour. The blend of Japanese whiskies creates a woody and light flavour that showcases the gorgeous aromas stored in bourbon casks, ready to be savoured freely. Sweet, fruity flavours of pear and papaya with hints of red fruit and vanilla are a refreshing taste.

Mars Shinshu Shinshu Distillery is actually part of the Hombo distillery group from Kagoshima, which was founded in 1872 by seven brothers of the Hombo family, and over the last 140 years has become one of Japan's most important distilleries. Shinshu Mars Distillery is also a treasure trove in the history of Japanese whisky, and is the most important distillery in Japan after Suntory and Nikka.

Kiichiro Iwai is the pioneer of Japanese whisky. This range of blended whiskies is named after the Shinshu Whisky Distillery in Japan, which was founded by Takezuru Masako's mentor, Iwai Kiichiro, in honour of Mr. Iwai Kiichiro. With Japanese attention to brewing, every sip of this whisky has a strong sense of oriental flavour! The Shinshu Whisky Factory, the highest in Japan, is located 798 metres above sea level in Nagano Prefecture. Surrounded by granite soils, pure spring water and the bounty of nature, the whisky is of the highest quality and standard.
