Brewing began in this area in 1884, and Watanabe Sake Brewery Main Store Co., Ltd. was officially established in 1955. The company's main brand is "Yukikomachi". In 1972, the output was increased to 500 KL, and in 1980, the output was expanded to 800 KL. The sake brewery began to partially automate the production line in 1989, and in 1991 further expanded the production equipment for the production of high-quality sake.

Watanabe Shuzo Main Store | Famous Sake Sake Spring Water

Watanabe Shuzo Main Store is a brewery that has been passed down from generation to generation in Yamashita. The Japanese sake brand is "Yukikomachi". "Yuki" is named after the local snow in northeastern Japan. "Komachi" means "local beauty" in Japanese, and can also be extended to mean "local specialty". The sake brewery is uniquely located in the Tohoku region, which is rich in natural resources. The sake brewery's brewery is located in Nishida Town, east of Gunzan City, at the foot of Mount Avukuma. It uses natural groundwater from the Avukuma Mountains as brewing water, which contains an appropriate amount of minerals, making Watanabe Shuzo's sake even more delicious. The brewery began to implement partial automation of the production line in 1989, and has been working hard to integrate old and new brewing technologies over the years.

【Funoxiang】

The sake rice "Fukunoka" is bred from the maternal line "Yufuji" and the father line "Dewa No Sato" sake rice. It is characterized by a gorgeous and unrestrained aroma like fresh grapes and peaches. The sweetness in the entrance spreads throughout the mouth, followed by a sharp acidity, and a mild and slightly bitter finish, which connects the overall transition. Although it is refreshing, it is also full of presence. Pairing wine with food is also interesting. The prefectural representative sake rice developed by Funoka with the goal of pursuing "mellow aroma, lightness, and freshness and sweetness" has a larger heart white than other sake rice and contains more water, making it easier for koji bacteria to breed. At the same time, I wish that "the drinker will be blessed".

The Watanabe Sake Brewery in Koriyama City produces sake "Junmai Daiginjo Yukikomachi Fuku no Kaori" that uses 100% rice grown in Sukagawa City as raw material. President Yasuhiro Watanabe and the producer visited Sukagawa City Hall on the 14th and reported the completion status to Mayor Katsuya Hashimoto.

The brewery uses 80% rice native to Fukuoka Prefecture produced by Sukagawa City farmer Takanori Aramaki, and 20% is sake rice Chiyonishiki produced by Shin-Sukagawa Agriculture Co., Ltd., which the store has been using. Preparations started in December last year. The alcohol concentration is 15%, the rice polishing rate is 50%, and the taste is dry, suitable for hot pot dishes.

President Watanabe said, "I hope more consumers can enjoy sake brewed with strictly selected raw materials," while Aramaki said, "We cultivated sake with care (completed sake), and it feels like having a grandson." Shinsukawa Agricultural Products Representative Shitara Tatsuo accompanied him.
