Introduction

The terroir of Vosne-Romanée is very unique. The vineyards in this area have excellent soil and climatic conditions, which allows famous wineries to gather here and produce high-quality wines. The soil here is rich in limestone and clay, which helps the grapes grow high-quality fruit. In addition, Vosne-Romanée's mild climate, protected by nearby mountains, contributes to the ripening of the grapes and the flavor of the wine. It is famous for its full, gorgeous and rich flavor. The total area of ​​the production area is 150 hectares, including 6 Grand Cru vineyards (27 hectares) and 14 First Class vineyards (54 hectares). Among them, there are some of the most elite vineyards in the world, including Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg , and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. Among them, Romanée-Conti can be regarded as the top winery in the world.

Romanée-Conti Grand Cru

The most famous production area in Burgundy. Due to the low production and many collectors, the price is extremely high. It is a dream product in the industry. The history can be traced back to 1232. In 1760, the owner was forced to sell the winery because of debts. At that time, there were two famous competitors. One was the cousin of King Louis XV of France, Louis Fracois de Bourbon, also known as Prince Conde. de Conti); the other was Madame de Pompadour, the mistress of the French King who was very influential at the time. The winery was eventually owned by Prince de Conti and was renamed La Romanee Conti.

After changing hands several times, it was finally bought by Jacques Marie Duvault Blochet in 1869. It was not until 1942 that Henri Leroy became a shareholder and holds half of the operating rights to this day. In 1974, the current owners Aubert de Villaine and Lalou Bize Leroy took over the brewing work and established Domaine de la Romanée-Conti with the exclusive domain of Romanee Conti. They brought unprecedented peaks and vitality to the winery, but later Lalou Bize Leroy left the winery based on his business philosophy and established his own winery, Domaine Leroy.

Echezeaux Grand Cru

Echezeaux was originally founded by the Cistercian Order and continued to become a private property after the French Revolution. It became a statutory production area in 1937, covering an area of ​​approximately 36.26 hectares. But the initial area was only 3.55 hectares. In the 1920s, when France was conducting legal classification of production areas, the government included the land around Echezeaux into Echezeaux Grand Cru, making the area reach such a large scale. Furthermore, the production areas are extremely diverse and ever-changing. In summary, Echezeaux wines often have aromas of roses, violets and fresh cherries. After aging, they will evolve into aromas of musk, leather, fur and mushrooms, with a rich and impactful taste.
