Located in the Graves (Graves) appellation of Bordeaux. The appellation produces sweet white wines with pleasant aromas of candied and baked fruits, with hints of citrus and exotic fruits. It is worth mentioning that red wine and dry liquor are also produced locally. But according to French wine regulations, only white wine can be marked with Cerons. The red wine produced is similar to Graves style.
Semillon
It is suitable for growing in cool or warm climates and has high yields. The brewed liquor has citrus fruit aroma and low acidity ratio. Due to the thin skin of Semillon, it is easy to be infected by noble rot wine. Furthermore, it is usually the highest proportion of blended grapes used in Cerons dessert wines.
Sauvignon Blanc
Has a rich fruity aroma. Plenty of acidity to neutralize the sweetness. Balance the dessert wine. In addition to sweet wine, it is also often made into dry Bordeaux white wine.
Musacadelle
It has a unique floral and spicy aroma, which adds taste and aroma to the dessert wine, and generally only accounts for a small proportion of the blend.
Cerons is located in the south of Bordeaux, close to Sauternes and Barsac, the famous botrytized wine producing areas. Cérons is different from the above two production areas, which are rich in gravel, and the local soil contains more clay. In addition, the location is farther from the river bank, and the formation of fog is less. Noble rot needs to form in wet and foggy conditions in the morning and dry in the evening. The lower the humidity, the less noble rot. Therefore, the sweetness and richness of locally produced liqueurs are usually lower than those of Sauternes and Barsac.
