Chateau Mouton 是波爾多五大酒莊之一，Mouton 翻成中文就是綿羊，故酒標皆會有綿羊的羊角，每年的正牌酒款（一軍酒）酒標則由不同的畫家所貢獻出當代畫作，像是 1969 年米羅，1973 年畢卡索，他們同時也可以得到五箱紅酒作為報償。2000 年的 Mouton 則一改常態，採用雕刻酒瓶的方式，同時鑲上金色線條，凸顯高貴的設計感。

Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild無論是風土還是釀造方式都相當獨特，是 Chateau Mouton Rothschild的第二種葡萄酒。它採用著名的First Growth葡萄園中精選較年輕葡萄樹的葡萄製成，在收穫、釀造和裝瓶時都一絲不苟地註重細節。這款葡萄酒採摘於開放的小籃子中，在橡木桶中發酵，然後以傳統方式在橡木桶中成熟，滿足了所有條件，使葡萄酒表現出了偉大的波雅克的優雅和豐富。

Château Mouton Rothschild 傳奇的崛起故事是五大酒莊中最為膾炙人口的。因為 Château Mouton Rothschild 於1855年酒莊分級時僅獲得二級酒莊的第一名，但在Baron Philippe de Rothschild 男爵努力不懈的改善酒園及酒質之下，終於在1973 年成為唯一破格由二級躍升一級的酒莊。Philippe 甚至在波爾多釀酒業界掀起了革命性的發展，其中一大舉措就是大改之前桶裝銷售葡萄酒的做法，改爲在酒莊中裝瓶，這也成爲了之後整個波爾多的規範做法。
